Future Stores
Making a Long-Lasting Impact with Short-Term Activations
On a mission to redefine what’s possible in retail, Future Stores landed on London’s most famous shopping street to offer a purpose-built, next-generation hybrid retail space that can host a rotating lineup of brand activations every two to six weeks. This unique model meant the store had to balance cutting-edge technology and installations that provoke social media virality with the ability to continually evolve to meet the needs and objectives of different brands.
Our team set out to craft an adaptive design solution that provides endless possibilities. Dynamic social media feeds served as an inspiration, leading the experts to create 400sqm of state-of-the-art wall-to-ceiling LED displays that served as an extraordinary canvas for creative storytelling, hosting dynamic content designed to make a lasting impression.
Impressive digital displays and high-quality audio combined with advanced data tracking capable of cutting through the complexities of measuring ROI in experiential retail. Concealed sensors, cameras, and light-emitting radar enabled always-on tracking of metrics including dwell time, engagement, and interactivity. Each data point ensures the Future Stores experience is more powerful than a traditional pop-up, providing the insights brands need to forge deeper customer relationships, enhance conversion rates, and improve customer satisfaction.
Future Stores | Adidas + Office Shoes
Shining a Spotlight on the Superstar
First launched in 1969, the adidas Superstar was the first all-leather pro basketball shoe and, by 1973, it was said to be worn by 75% of all NBA players. Now in its 56th year, the Superstar retains its revered status, which is why adidas chose Future Stores as the venue to give the iconic shoe the attention it deserves.
Our team curated a visual spectacle complemented by interactive elements to generate excitement for this exclusive event. Black and white visuals provided instant brand recognition while encouraging passers-by to cross the threshold and explore the Superstar collection.
An on-site DJ transformed the store into an events space; a feeling that was amplified by a Superstar photo booth, basketball shoot-off, and black and white slushies. A sense of exclusivity was guaranteed with visitors receiving exclusive giveaways and being offered limited edition accessories to personalize their Superstars.
Future Stores | Don Papa Rum
Growing Brand Awareness While Retaining Your Roots
Transporting visitors from the streets of London to the shores of the Philippines, Don Papa Rum sought to maximize the technical and creative possibilities of Future Stores to create the mystical Sugarlandia, a place where everything is heightened, and mysteries await discovery.
To bring this vision to life, our experts blurred the lines between retail and theatre, recreating the foothills of Mount Kanlaon, where the finest blades of sugarcane are expertly milled to produce the sweet molasses that form Don Papa Rum.
Future Stores’ vast digital canvas became a playground of storytelling, displaying vivid visuals and innovative graphics that overrun the senses and create an atmosphere where anything is possible. This imaginative approach led to an immersive brand experience that entertained and engaged while remaining rooted in the rich heritage of the Philippines.
Future Stores | Intel
Bridging the Gap Between Virtual Reality and Physical Retail
Intel was the first brand to take up residency in Future Stores, presenting an immersive, tech-driven activation that encouraged visitors to engage with its newly launched AI PCs and deep dive into the world of augmented reality.
The first task for our team was helping a company known for its technology fuse innovation with state-of-the-art storytelling to effectively communicate the possibilities of generative AI. Interactivity served to embed these stories; live demonstrations and tutorials were offered alongside a live-stream gaming championship that attracted 220,000 unique viewers on Twitch. An AI-powered art tool showcased the creative possibilities of this emerging technology, encouraging visitors to center their faces into a template, choose a character like a Princess or Knight, and populate a unique portrait.
Bringing each of these experiences to life required an agile and flexible use of technology, with workings cleverly concealed by our team to ensure full brand immersion. The result? 39,000 people visited the pop-up and sales of the Intel Core M Ultra product increased by 59%.
Future Stores | LØCI
Awareness by Day, Excitement by Night
By choosing Future Stores to host its first physical store, urban-lux vegan trainer and apparel brand LØCI hoped to broaden its audience and build brand awareness. This meant creating a store experience that reflects LØCI’s place in pop culture, its creativity, and its collaborations through energetic floor-to-ceiling content, in-store events, and intentional use of technology.
A jam-packed event schedule meant the store had to transition from a daytime retail environment to evening event space, capitalizing on media exposure and social media buzz. The opening event showcased the brand’s creative ethos as Brooklyn-based artist Laolu Senbanjo presented a live in-store demonstration and cameras cast live video of the work across the giant 400sqm displays to captivate the crowds.
Technology facilitated sales and captured metrics that LØCI can use to develop its future physical retail offerings. Snapchat’s augmented reality kiosks and displays allowed customers to have virtual try-ons before placing in-store orders for home delivery while Future Stores’ inbuilt monitors tracked footfall, dwell time, and how customers moved through the space. Combining these metrics with web traffic, live impressions, and social impressions presented a holistic view of the impact of physical retail on online behavior, an invaluable asset for this digital-first brand.
Future Stores | Mercedes-Benz
Balancing Innovation and Brand Identity
Future Stores was a natural fit for a prestige brand looking to launch a next-generation product. Mercedes-Benz wanted to announce the new CLA with a retail experience that reflected the car’s bold design, electric innovation, and use of AI without losing the essence of this renowned German brand.
Full brand immersion that balanced tech credentials with emotive design was the challenge. Our team chose to focus on show-stopping automotive storytelling, using interactive screens to highlight the UK’s product range and installing a VR F1 driving simulator to attract the attention of motor sports enthusiasts.
Metrics were also a crucial part of ensuring the pop-up’s success with a 180-degree bullet camera used to capture data and mark a milestone as Mercedes-Benz welcomed the most visitors since Future Stores opened its doors in October 2024.
Future Stores | Pepsi
Experiencing the Essence of Flavor
Pepsi arrived at Future Stores to launch two new zero-sugar flavors with an activation that would set a new standard for brand experiences. The brief for our team was to deliver a visually striking space that evokes a 360-degree sugar rush, immersing visitors in the essence of each new flavor before they take their first sip.
Eye-catching visuals set the tone while the store space was transformed into an interactive arcade, a multisensory playground appealing to all ages. Visitors were encouraged to indulge; playing games, participating in an AI-powered sweet test, and spending time in the sweet room where the new flavors could be explored in depth.
The activation became a must-visit destination, attracting long queues and causing a social media sensation as visitors shared short videos and photos from the store online.
Future Stores | Renault
Driving Awareness Through Connection and Creativity
French car manufacturer Renault crossed the channel to build anticipation for the UK launch of its Renault 5 E-tech Electric. The brand’s installation at Future Stores sought to capture the energy of a live event and drive social media buzz while showcasing Renault’s brand identity and its commitment to developing electric vehicles.
A vivid color palette and playful interactive experiences perfectly reflected these aims, engaging customers with high-definition digital storytelling that sparked conversations about what’s next for urban mobility.
The human element was also prioritized as enthusiastic team members educated visitors on the vehicle’s unique features and innovative technology; an approach that proved so successful that 50 models were sold in just one weekend.
Future Stores | Tesla
Elevating Product Placement
Creating a unique retail experience for a brand known for pushing boundaries presented a fresh challenge for our expert team. Tesla chose to take over Future Stores to present its vision of the future, previewing its latest product lineup in a space that complements its distinct vision, use of technology, and AI automation.
Installing the new Model Y, iconic Cybertruck, and Optimus robot in the heart of London’s Oxford Street attracted immediate attention from passers-by, while prominent digital displays brought depth to the installation without distracting from the products themselves.
The cutting-edge Tesla Cybertruck was the undeniable star of the show, garnering admirers in person and online as visitors shared photos and videos on social media. Making its European debut at Future Stores, the all-terrain vehicle embodies the bold innovation that defines the Tesla brand.
